Perkoa gold mine, Burkina Faso. Opio is 13 years old and works on the surface earning a bag of rocks only each month. His father wants him to go to a professional school but as he can't afford the tuition fees, Opio must find the money by himself. Despite his young age Opio asks his boss for a promotion: the right to go down into the underground galleries to look for gold.
